Who We Are
Cub Scout Pack 39 of the Suffolk County Council, Benjamin Tallmadge District, in Mattituck, NY was first chartered in 1948. We have over 40 scouts and approximately 9 Adult leaders and committee members. Most of our scouts attend Cutchogue East Elementary School, but any child Kindergarten through 5th grade is encouraged to join. We currently have scouts from Mattituck, Cutchogue, Southold and Greenport that are enrolled in our Pack. We welcome any child from any town that meets the eligibility requirements.
What We Do
We learn. We serve. We play!!!
As a pack we engage scouts at the den (grade) level to learn life skills and character development as part of a group (the den). A Pack is made of six Dens.

As part of our commitment to learning, serving and playing, Pack 39 is a very active Pack. There are some things a scout can only learn while being outdoors. That is why as a Pack we go camping, fishing and hiking multiple times a year. Although these Pack events are fun, the real magic in learning happens at the den level.
The dens provide an opportunity for scouts to have fun with their friends while learning skills (like preparing for a hike, pitching a tent, cooking on a campfire, navigating a city using a map, and knowing how to interact with and appreciate public service) and developing a fair amount of character along the way.
In fact, character is at the core of what we do. Ultimately a scout strives to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

Pack 39 holds a holiday food drive every November to donate the goods to the Mattituck Lions Club holiday baskets. We decorate National Cemeteries with flags and wreaths every year. We attend several ceremonies a year to honor our veterans and those men and women that have given their all for our freedom. We also hold one of the best Pancake breakfast fundraisers and Chinese auctions on the North Fork.

Our Pack is not all work, we do lots of playing as well. We have gone bowling, ice skating, trampoline parks, baseball games and a wide variety of other different and engaging events over the past few years. As a Pack we also host our annual downhill Cub Mobile race, a Pinewood Derby race, a Rain gutter Regatta and several pack hikes throughout the year.

Pack 39 meets every 3rd Thursday of the month for our Monthly Pack meetings. Dens usually meet once or twice a month depending on the leader's schedule of adventures that have to be completed.
